Backlight for Latitude E7250 with AC

Hi,

Does anybody know how to activate this backlighting on the keyboard? Mine isn't lighting up automatically when plugged in.

Thanks!

Hi CB1981,

In the 7250 BIOS there's a setting "Keyboard Backlight with AC" under System Configuration, by default this is Disabled. You will have to go in to the BIOS and set it to Enabled.

Hope this lets you see the light, if not let me know

Restart the system and press F2 at the Dell logo. This will enter System Setup.

In the System Setup screen move the cursor to System Configuration, click on it

The list will be expanded and in the list click on Keyboard Backlight with AC

Tick the box to enable the feature, click Apply then exit. The system will reboot and the keyboard should now be illuminated when the AC is connected.

Ok, can you check if you have the backlit keyboard on the system in that case?

If you're unsure press FN and F10 in Windows and it will cycle through the different levels of brightness for the keyboard.  If it doesn't cycle through then you don't have a backlit keyboard, so it won't illuminate when the AC is inserted.

If you do have the backlit keyboard then update the BIOS to the latest version from the support site
