Damaged screen on laptop

Question

My laptop needs a new screen-how do I go about getting it fixed and how much will it cost?    Any feed back is appreciated.

Unless it's under complete care, you can do the replacement yourself or have a shop do it. Figure on between $300 for a 14' XGA screen to about $600 for a high-resolution 17'.

I have an old Inspiron 5100 and my dog stepped on the screen.  I am too lazy and to inept to repair it myself so I called Dell.  It was around 500 bucks for the repair.  They picked up my laptop on Friday and it was back on Monday all repaired with a new screen and with the newest BIOS loaded in it.  I have a 15 inch XGA screen.
