display screen is yellow
Please let me know if I'm in the wrong forum.
My display is yellow. Imagine there's a yellow screen protector, and someone put it on your monitor. Everything is yellow now.
I don't know how it happened. Could it have had something to do with this? I was cleaning up my desk and unwittingly put something a little too heavy on the keyboard. It was there for a while. When I saw it I grabbed it off quickly, then noticed that the screen is yellow.
If not that, what? And how do I fix it? I've tried restarting, turning monitor off/on, using monitor's settings (the buttons on the monitor), and Display in the Control Panel.
I have an N5110 laptop and a P2314H monitor. I put them on a docking station a couple of weeks ago and have had no problems.
Thanks for whatever you can offer.

I would first try to determine if the problem lies with the external monitor or the notebook's LCD panel or both. Try the built in self test for the P2314H monitor
To run the built-in diagnostics:
The test is complete when the white screen appears (for P2314H and P2714H). For P2214H and P2414H, the text screen appears. To exit, press the Button 4 again.
If you do not detect any screen abnormalities upon using the built-in diagnostic tool, the monitor is functioning properly.
If you notice the yellow screen still when the notebook isn't connected then the problem lies with the monitor and you will need to have it serviced.
If the screen looks fine then the problem is either with the data cables or the notebook itself.
Test the notebook, turn it on with no external monitor attached, do you notice the yellow screen, if not the notebook is likely fine. You can try reconnecting the monitor if you didn't notice the yellow on the monitor and see if the problem righted itself. If it does then the problem was simply a connection problem.
If you notice the yellow screen on the LCD and monitor both the problem will be with the GPU. You should try reinstalling the video drivers and see if that helps.
I will send a friend request, please reply here with what you found out and we can go from there.

I had to use an adapter for the display port when I plugged the display into my docking station. Apparently I did not have the adapter screws tightened enough because when I went to remove the video cable from the docking station just wiggling it a little seemed to resolve the problem.
I tightened the screws from the connector on the video cable to the adapter, then I made certain the adapter was firmly seated and screwed in tightly to the docking station.
Everything is working normally now.
