HDMI driver problem

Hi,

Hoping someone out there can help me, as not having much luck trying to get hold of Dell online support. Basically, when I try connecting monitor using HDMI lead it will not work. Lead is ok, as have connected my camcorder with it and not experienced any trouble. Therefore guessing it's something to do with driver?

I'm not much of a techno-head, so please keep any advice in simple terms!

Cheers,

Kiwi

Andy

Here is a good article on connecting monitors and TVs to systems

support.dell.com/.../document

1. Set the Input

On most Dell monitors there is a Quick Access or Input button  This button allows you to change your monitor to the selected Inputs such as: VGA, Digital/DVI, Display port and various other video input sources that your monitor may have.

Press the Quick Access or Input button  to change to the correct video input source.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Install/Update Video Driver

Install or Update your Video card driver, this driver will help your monitor perform at its visual best.

Visit the Dell Drivers and Downloads website and input your Service Tag to get updates specific to your computer.

If you need assistance in Downloading and Installing Drivers or BIOS. Click here for Installation Instructions

Click Here to Launch the Dell Drivers and Downloads Website

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. Configure Video Settings

Configure your Resolution, Color depth, and Font Size, to exactly what visual suits you!

By changing your video settings you can change the look of your screen including Icon Size, Font Size and Color depth.

Please let me know if you have tried this and if it was of any help.

Please help , I am trying to connect my Inspiron N5110 to sony bravia 46ex720 tv.  connecting via HDMI cable and have video but not audio.   audio is through laptop but this is not what I want.

when I go into sound, playback settings, there is no HDMI option, so assuming I need a new driver.   running windows 10 and the dell website doesn't appear to have an update for audio driver for windows 10 yet.

please help.
