Inspiron 8600 Display Problem
OK, before I spend countless hours on the phone with Dell over this maybe someone here can help. The display on my Inspiron has developed a problem to where it now consisits of a series of broken vertical lines. The higher the screen resolution the smaller and more numerous the lines. When I could actually see the screen icons I installed new video drivers but that did not have any effect.
Problem also exists using an external monitor.
Anyone have any idea of the problem and/or a solution?
Thanks,
Mike

hmmmm, well if problem occurs with an external monitor, there can be a big possibilty that something is wrong with the video card..
try uninstalling/reinstalling your video driver and if still a no go, on to the step below...
one thing that will really help you isolate the problem and also lessen your time on the phone with tech support is to reseat your lcd cable.its underneath the keyboard...you might want to visit support.dell.com,go to User Guides for assistance in taking out hinge cover, keyboard and reseating the LCD cable..
hope this helps!:robothappy:
