Inspiron Mini 1012 Unknown Device
I put Windows 7 64 on a Mini 1012 and can't figure out what this Unknown Device is. The support site only has drivers for Windows 7 32. Many of those installers also contained 64 bit drivers and for the rest i could at least see the devices that were used in the system and went to the manufacturer's website for 64-bit versions. However, i've looked up and down the list and even compared this 64-bit computer to an identical model purchased with the same specs but running the Win7 32 install that came stock from Dell and i dont see a difference between the 2 in device manager.

64 bit drivers are not available on support so i did download them from the manufacturer's sites, but i have one Unknown Device i can not identify.

What did you do to resolve the unknown device issue ?

Hi Mike,
Welcome to the Community. I did a bit of research on this and i found installing the Battery meter application may help to fix the unknown device issue.

Hi Scott,
If you have just installed Windows use the below link on how to install drivers in the correct order. If you do not install the drivers in the correct order some devices may not work properly.
support.dell.com/.../document
If the 64 bit drivers are not available on the support site, you will need to try the manufacturer's website eg ( Intel, Nvidia )
