jagged text all over
I had to reinstall XP on my inspiron 5150 and everything works fine now. Except the text is jagged and blurred. Not just in IE, but also in the regular system stuff and in all my other applications. I tried going to monitor settings and adjusting it. It won't allow me to change to a custom setting. it will either give me 96 dpi (too small and still not clear) or 120, which is too big. It will not apply the custom setting. The icons on my desktop are also so much smaller than normal, used to be about twice the size. The lower resolutions are blurry and cartoony. I like the resolution its at now EXCEPT for the icon size and text blur/jag. I tried reinstalling a new Nvidia driver given to me by a tech support on the dell chat and it STILL wont accept my custom setting or fix the problems in IE. I have no clue what to do and it's driving my eyesight crazy. I had the same problem when i bought it and got it fixed, i cant remember how.

This may be stupid but where are display properties?
I just did a clean install with SP2 and have some display problems. Fonts are fuzzy or jagged, etc. When I went to get the video driver for my Inspiron 8200, I was supposed to download a bios exe file as well but unfortunately it only works if you have a floppy drive. I do not have a floppy drive. could not having the bios file be part of the problem?

Also, there is no setting between 96dpi and 120dpi. Even under custom, you can only select 100%(96dpi), 125%(120 dpi) and so forth in 25% increments.
As far as icons, under the Display Properties --> Appearance --> Effects --> "Use Large Icons".
