keyboard replacement
Hi.
i'm wondering about replacing a keyboard on my Inspiron 6400. Some keys are stuck and others won't press down at all. I didn't spill anything, maybe it got damp? Will replacing the keyboard fix these problems and is it covered under my warranty?
Thank you.

- If you're in warranty, by all means send it back. If not, good news! Keyboard replacement could not be simpler or cheaper. I replaced mine (on my Inspiron B130) today ... certain keys weren't working reliably.First, go to the Dell site and download your user manual as a PDF file. If your model is like mine, the keyboard replacement instructions should be there. They are crystal clear and well written. If the instructions seem to be within your ability, order a replacement keyboard from Dell. Mine is remanufactured and cost less than $13. Works great. It took all of 15-20 minutes to replace my keyboard ... longer than it took to get over my habit of pounding on the "g", "a", "1" and "w" keys. I wish I hadn't waited to do it. Just be sure to follow all the instructions carefully, including removing the battery first and grounding yourself from time to time to discharge static.Good luck.Carl.
