memory clips
Is there a way to secure the ram on a CPx when the clips that hold in the module are broken? Is tape an option?

Think how hot your computer gets when its been running for say, 5 hours. Now think of sticky hot gooey tape stuff all over your motherboard, RAM, and CP. There's your reason.AussieChris

Hi,
If the clips are broken, and you dont want to replace the Mbd, you could try to hold the Mem. in place with some silicon. Be very carefull not to get it on the contacts, and components. 2 spots at the top should hold it, and temperature wont cause any problems. You can cut it to remove the Mem. Be very carefull if you do this, as you may ruin the Mem as well as the Mbd if you get it wrong.
