Need CPU & Memory upgrade help

I have a Dell Studio 1745-3691MBU, with HDMI, Service Tag: I would like to know the manufacturer; Model number (example: Core 2 Duo T6600); Part number etc. of the following; CPU – Upgrade to highest:   I believe the highest is the, Intel Core 2 Quad; L1 cache 256KB; L2 cache 1MB; L3 cache 8MB Memory – Upgrade to highest:  8GB (2 - 4GB sticks) Currently I have the following:   CPU Currently Installed: Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 @ 2.2GHz   2.20GHz. CPU’s Acceptable (per manual): Intel Core 2 Duo; L1 cache 128KB; L2 cache 2MB/3MB/6MB Intel Core 2 Quad; L1 cache 256KB; L2 cache 1MB; L3 cache 8MB Memory Total, currently: 4GB (2 - 2GB sticks) Memory Type (per Dell manual): 1067/1333MHz SODIMM DDR3 Memory Actually Installed: Samsung, 2GB 2Rx8 PC3-8500S-07-10-F2 Memory Slots, Total available: 2 I found this system board information on line but do not know if it is correct; DELL STUDIO 1745 LAPTOP MOTHERBOARD J502P 0J502P LA-5151P USA. If this is correct it doesn’t help me because this is a Dell mother board and Dell did not post the CPU and Memory information for this board as does other mother board manufacturers?   I would like to get this done before I purchase my next Laptop. Could you please help me?

Thank you, that is one of the ones I have been looking at through wiki and Intel. I also just purchased some Ram Corsair 8GB SODIMM Kit DDR3  CMS08GX3M2A but it did not boot. What did I do wrong? What do I need?
