Hey I've a problem!!

i'm a dutch girl with a Dell XPS M1530, and after i'd downloaded a few downloads from the dellsite,(also 'Sigmatel') my computer generated also no more sounds. if i click on the sign volume, below on the right, thecomputer tells me that there''s an earphone plugged in and you can hear your sound if you put those things in your ear. (don't know how to translate it shorter.) BUT there's no earphone plugged in, and IF I plugg in my earphones i do not hear anything trough them !

Can someone help me?!
