Overheating - fan not working Error code 2000-0511

Xps 13 L321X

Keeps freezing / turns off - overheating problem.

 Diagnostics Error code 2000-0511

Validation 98216

Dell system support suggested a Bios update - but when I explored this - it suggested I would not want to download an older Bios A01 - I have A06.

Advice please.

Hi Wendy,

Update the BIOS - A08 version available on the support site - http://dell.to/2ailoMR

Restart and also reinstall the video drivers from the support site - http://dell.to/1MjN6XZ

Once done, run a stress test on the system via Support Assist - http://dell.to/1NEc1Y4

Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us.

If the system still overheats, download the service manual - http://dell.to/2ailzbc- and clean the air vents and the fan assembly with a small vacuum cleaner or a can of compressed air. Also, reapply the thermal grease for the heatsink.

If the system is under warranty, Please click my DELL-username and write me a private conversation with the service tag and your contact details(Name and Email). If there is no warranty, then you could contact our team to get a quote for a paid service call - http://dell.to/1vnT6CQ

Let us know if you have any other queries.
