my computer gets really hot and the fan is always on, it is loud and annoying, is this normal i have the inspiron 6000. what can be done to fix this problem.
Please use some type of forced air (i.e.: a can of compressed air) to blow into the fan vent on the bottom vent and the two cooling vents located on the back and side of the computer. Also flash the bios, you may go through the link below :(please download and install the file.) for your system bios for XP operating system:
If this does not help you, you should contact technical support for overheating issues and they will help you with its service, if the unit is out of warranty, you may tell them that its too hot to touch for a free service :)
(They must replace the heatsink assembly, and the fan)
