Hi,

Thank you for writing to the Dell Community Forum.

You would require two DVD's to create a factory back up media. Please make sure these DVD's are write once DVD's and not re-writable. Once the first disk is complete, it would eject. Insert the second disk and the process will continue and the second disk would get completed.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I have already 3 writable DVDs which is required for backup. my question is that i executed the utility on my first DVD and files are written on it. now if i restart the application how can i continuous on 2nd DVD ? because i exit from the application mistakenly when 2nd DVD was required. should i create from scratch? in that case my first DVD will go to trash.
secondly the link given by you is showing USB Backup creation, but i am creating on DVDs. if there is such link please share it.

thanks

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, you would have to start from the beginning with new DVD's. The steps to create back-up DVD's is same as USB provided in the link.

Better to make a USB especially for a Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 OEM system. The optical drive and DVD media will not pass secureboot.
