Reinstaling XP??
I reinstalled WIndows on my Dimension 2400 desktop and it went smoothly; now AI want to reinstall on my Inspiron 1200 laptop as well, but I am concerned becasue Googling I found that during a reinstall the laptop it may ask me for the Windows XP Product Key. I have NO idea what it is, or even where I may have stored it. I was not asked for a Product Key when I reinstalled on my desktop.....
Also, I cannot find out how to get started; my Dimension automatically gave me the option to boot from CD when I put the CD in, on my laptop, pushing F2 gets me to a screren I am unfamiliar with. Are there any step by step instructions available for this? TIA

If CTRL F11 does not work and you need to manually install be sure you install in this order, after you install windows.

You should not need the product key, but if you do, it's on a label at the bottom of the notebook.
There is also the quick restore - CTRL-F11 at powerup. That will restore the system to the way it was when you removed it from the shipping box.
