Rendering errors in FarCry
I only have the FarCry demo. I want to get the full game but before I do I want to iron out any kinks I have. For some reason when I play FarCry on my laptop some objects in the game will be all white. Railings and people are some examples of things that can appear as all white. I've installed drivers from www.laptopvideo2go.com ranging from the low 5x.xx series upto the newest 6x.xx series drivers. None of the drivers seem to fix the problem. They arent artifacts because overclocked or not I have the same problem but I never have problems like this in any other games. Anyone know a fix for this?

Before you go any further I would suggest you head over to the Ubi.com FarCry forums here http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/6/ubb.x?a=frm&s=400102&f=170106891 . This is a link to the technical help forum. It seems there are a few problems with ATI Mobile GPU's in FarCry. I know I have been trying to run it for a while on my ATI M9000 and have had very bad luck. The game usually grinds to a halt on my system until you look in a different direction. There is actually a sticky at the top strictly for users of ATI 8500-9200. But I see that you have the ATI 9600 in your desktop system and that seems to be a very good GPU to have. I would think that you could run this game at a pretty high level with that card. As for your mobile GPU you may have some trouble. You will probably be able to get away with running the game at Medium settings with your laptop. This game is very graphic intesive and requires lots of fire power to get the most out of it. Many people with budget cards lower than your 9600 will never get to see everything the game has to offer while running the game with everything set to Low. I am in no way an expert on all GPU's but from what I read as well as first hand experience this may be a good starting point for you. Good luck!

RRules, I have a 5150 with a 2.66 P4 512mg, and the FX5200 32MG. I did what you did and played the demo first with the all white and blue junk everywhere. I disided to buy the game anyway and it plays VERY good now. I play it at the medium settings with no problems at all. Also i use the latest omega driver and i Oced my card to 221 502.
Now i know your 5150 Specs are much better then mine so you shouldnt have any problems with playing the full version.

Someone will assist you on this RRules, but they will need your notebook spec's, such as model, memory, video card, etc.
Far Cry really needs about 1 gb of memory, with a good cpu, not to mention a very good graphic's card that notebooks do not have at the moment. You might be able to play the game on the low setting only, depending on your computer set up. Give us the information as to what you have, and another poster will be glade to assist you as to your question..Good luck
