"Sunspots"

I have a D600 that is about 10 months old. In the last three months, the LCD has been replaced twice because of a "sunspot" that appears on the screen. I also have a D600 from work, bought a couple of months prior that has the exact same problem in roughly the same area of the screen (just right of center, about four inches down from the top of the screen). On a dark background, it appears white, on a white background, it appears brown.

After the first repair, I received the computer on a Thursday, by Saturday it was slated to go out again. After the second repair, it took about a week to come back, but since than it has gotten larger (a bit larger than a pencil eraser).

I am going to have to send my personal one back for yet a third LCD, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what the problem might be.

Thanks.

Hi,

Im not sure what you mean by sunspot, but is it because the touch-stick is rubbing when the LCD is closed ? This can happen when the carry bag is full of other things. ( or the bumpers have come off )

The position is wrong for the stick, and my bumpers are all there. "Sunspot" was what Dell support called it, the pixels in that area appear brighter on dark background and appear brown on a white background.

I will just have to send it back for another LCD.

Thanks.
