TN -> IPS Panel Upgrade.
I've had my Inspiron 15 5000 for 6 months or so, and I'm mostly happy with it. The one thing I still find disappointing however is the TN panel. Having only ever owned IPS panels in the past and not knowing that TN was still even a thing, the picture quality is...well...terrible in comparison.
So my questions are;
A) Is it possible to install an IPS panel instead of the TN panel?
B) Does Dell offer a compatible IPS panel for the inspiron 15 series?
C) ...and if not, does anyone know of a compatible 3rd party IPS screen?
......from what I have seen around the internet forums is that this IS possible....I was just hoping to get some current feedback from someone that may have already tried this.
Thanks,
Chris

The 7000 series is available with IPS displays -- that said, you'd have to contact Dell Spare Parts for a price quote on the screen -- and replacing the screen on an in-warranty system does void the remainder of the system warranty, if that's a consideration.

I've noticed that the 7000 series has the IPS display - would I be able to install THAT screen in to my 5000? And yes, I assumed that this would void the remainder of the warranty.

Most likely, yes. And yes - replacing the screen WILL void the warranty on the system.
