Undocking/docking E6420 Problems!!!!
E6420 maybe the worst laptop dell ever made! I can say this because we have about 150 E6420 and majority of them have this problem. Regardless of having windows 7, vista or xp, this problem is there.
Problem is when you have the laptop docked and you want to undock it, it stays on a blank black screen and you have to hard reboot for it to work, that's the first issue. Second issue is, when you have the laptop on not on the dock and then you dock it, It powers off the computer or stays on the blank screen until you hard reboot again.
I've users complaining everyday with this issue because they don't save their document and they undock it and they lose all their work. Sometimes a brand new laptop won't pickup 2 monitors unless you update the video driver which isn't bad but a pain.
For any company who's thinking of buying E6420's I suggest you look into another model before buying this <ADMIN NOTE: Profane word removed as per TOU> model.

I have several users experiencing this exact same issue, only they are running the NVIDIA NVS 4200 video card with the A13 BIOS on E640Q's; is there a fix for their configuration?
Thanks.

If they haven't fixed it by now, chances are they simply don't care about it. I suggest you have one VGA and one DVI. This will resolve your issue.
