I have a new xps 13 9350 abd an still setting it up. When I check the Windows 10 Updates tab I find more than a dozen updates listed under "Details" and a bar showing 54% downloaded. Some of the listed updates are ready for installation and others are waiting to be downloaded. However, there has been no change in those settings for more than three days.
How do I get Windows 10 to complete the updating process?

You should see "restart " at the bottom of the windows 10 update page( Settings), click on it. You can also click the Start's button, Power and then Restart. Your system should download some/all of the updates. You might have to restart again for all to download.

Troubleshoot common computer problems:
1. Right click Start's button at the left hand bottom of the page
2. Click Control Panel
3. System And Security
4. Look below Security And Maintenance
a) click Troubleshoot common computer problems
5. View All ( left side of the page)
6. click windows update
I followed this trail but Troubleshoot said it couldn't find anything and referred me back to this forum. In the meantime, I found a place under Start called Advanced Windows Update. That screen had some 30 updates listed, including one for the big Windows 10 update of a couple weeks ago. All these updates dated todday said update had failed (including the big one). Updated 17th and earlier were marked successfully completed. I couldn't find any way to restart the "failed" updates, however.

Thanks so much, LSUFAN51, for your helpful suggestions but, unfortunately, I'm no closer to seeing the Build and Version information. When I follow the "Uninstall updates" process I have twenty-one Windows updates which includes eleven Updates for Microsoft Windows and ten Security Updates (starting July 29, 2015) with the four most-recent updates being Security Updates. The last regular update (KB 3106932) was installed November 11, 2015. I thought Classic Shell might be interfering with the Build/Version info and so it was uninstalled; however, rerunning Belarc Advisor found the same/old information. I'm at a lost about revealing the info you've found and why the difference in update numbers.

Please type msinfo32 in Cortana (search bar) then press enter, you should see all of your system information.
Here are my list of Updates:
1. KB3105211 - (Nov 10)
2. KB3118754 - ( Nov 19 )
3. KB 3120677 - Nov 24
4. KB3122947 - Dec 5
5. KB3116908 - Dec 5
6. KB3119147 - Dec 8
7. KB3116900 - Dec 8
8. KB3124200 - (Dec 18) Latest OS Build 10586.36,version1511
Did you get the chance to run the window updates tool on your laptop ? If you have not. ......
1. Please type troubleshoot computer problems in Cortana search bar then press enter
2. Look to the left of the page, click view all
3. Click Windows Update. Hopefully it fix the windows updates.

My problem is related - I "think" the updates have all been installed; however, the build number does not update/change from 10240 with an installation date of July 29, 2015 (as indicated by Belarc Advisor and Speccy). The Win10 system is an Inspiron 3543 laptop. Is there a way to confirm update installation and/or current Win10 build? Many thanks...
