Upgrade query.....XPS L521x

Hi there,

I am getting my new XPS 15 L521x delivered tomorrow as a replacement from my insurance company.

Would anyone mind telling me please, which of these parts are upgradeable

i5 3210m processor?
1GB Nvidia GT630m
Hard Drive

I would like to upgrade the ram from 8 to 16 however once I saw the instructions for disassembling, I have been put off!

so that means I can change up the parts myself?

is that right? I can just buy the 2GB graphics chip and the i7 priocessor?

The processor and hard drive are upgradeable. The video chip is a permanent part of mainboard - it cannot be upgraded.

Upgrading the CPU will void your warranty, though.

Most of the big online retailers sell mobile CPUs.

However, the price is likely to be such that it will give you some pause:
