I have an Inspiron 9300 laptop that has been running without incident for several months.  This past week I discovered that if I adjust the Volume Control using my mouse it produces a HUGE beep and then shuts down the whole computer.  If I use the actual volume control button on the computer it works fine.  Anybody have any ideas?  Thanks.
