I've been trying to use a certain audio production program but was unable to load any .wav files into the program. After going through all of it's settings, I realized that for whatever reason, it is just not loading .wav files.

When I try to open a .wav file with winamp, windows media player, or itunes, they all say that they can't play it because of a missing codec. I'm pretty sure that windows comes with the .wav codec, but I don't know what the file is called. Could anyone tell me? Maybe the file was deleted when I uninstalled a program. If that's not the case could there be another reason why this is happening?
