I am so disappointed with Dell that it is not funny. I bought my daughter a Dell M5030 Laptop for Christmas 2 years ago. She loves this laptop and last August she got the 7 beeps of death and it would not boot. I searched the internet and found that thousands of this same computer has the same problem and yet there was no recall from Dell to address this issue. I called technical support and had to argue my way thru Dell to finally address this issue even though they told me that they never heard of this issue being a problem. I guess they do not look on the internet to see how theiir product is doing and what issues that common users face with this particular model.
So Dell takes the laptop back and replaces the motherboard and 5 months later the 7 beeps of death happens again. Instead of fixing the problem, contacting the manufacturer of the motherboard they placed another motherboard with the same issues back into the laptop, a band-aid fix at best. Now Dell will not fix this common problem without me having to pay $328 to repair it with another motherboard that may have a life expediency of another 5 months. I always bought Dell products but not now or in the future if they will not stand behind their products, know that when there is a problem with hardware that they will fix it correctly. I did not expect Dell to make "throw away" products and that is basically what I now have, either pay the $328 and expect it to fail in the future or buy another laptop and throw this one away. If a car manufacturer had this issue, they would have to have a recall and make sure that the issue was really fixed, not place a band-aid on the problem and hope it goes away.
