Hi, sorry, this is my first post... I have a Dell X1 laptop. I spilled apple juice on the keyboard the other day and i turned the laptop upside down for 2 days to dry. It has an anti-spill keyboard, however when i use the laptop for over an hour the keys start to stick... I presume this is because any apple juice that is under the keys turns into sticky substance after it is heated.
My question is, how can i clean these keys. Is there a way to take the buttons off the X1. I am afraid to clips them off incase they snap or break... Any feedback, help or information would be greatly appreciated as it took me nearly 10 minutes to type this mesage, thanks in advance
- Thanks, i have taken the keyboard out, and i have soaked it in luke warm water. I have tried it out completely, however i am going to leave it air out for two days before i connect it back up.The keys seem to be fine now, however i am worried that when i connect it back up that it might affect my laptop in general... as the keyboard has been totally submerged under water...Whats your view on my situation?
- If you used distilled water, it should dry with zero residue. If you used tap water, it may leave things on the circuit boards.Go to your local supermarket and get a gallon of distilled water and rinse it again. Put a fan on it to dry everything out and you should be OK.
