2001fp resolutions not selectable why?...PLEASE HELP.

HEY EVERYONE.....im new here as i`ve just bought myself an ultrasharp 2001fp.im having a little problem selecting different resolutions on it,i have it set at the suggested 1600x1200@60hz in 32bit at the moment and it looks amazing i must admit.the only problem im having is i cannot select most of the resolutions the monitor supports, the only ones i can select are> 1600x1200,1280x960,1280x768,800x600 at 32 or 16bit.as i do most of my gaming at 1280x1024 this is becoming a problem.i have installed the latest drivers from dells site but i still cannot select any other resolutions than the ones mentioned.im using a Ati radeon 9700 pro if this is any help, this card can display a lot more resolutions than the monitor can,so i dont think its the card.PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

regards,

sandman666.

sandman666,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Try going into the Display Properties and click the Settings tab. From there, click Adapter. Then, click "list all modes". You should then see a list of modes the video card will support.Click the one you are needing and see if that will resolve your issue.

Thanks for trying Jesse, but that was one of the first things i tried, there are a lot more resolutions available after doing this but all of them are not supported by the monitor, all the refresh rates are to high for the 2001fp to use.there is no 1280x1024@75hz or 1024x768@75 and so on and so on.dont know whats wrong but when i connect my sony 19" fst back up,all the modes are there to be selected.so graphics card driver issue is outa the window me thinks.its getting right on my nerves now and im not able to play some of the games as 1600x1200 is to high for me to run farcry for instance at high visual settings.i love the monitor but this is pissing me right off now.

Are you using DVI?? Catalyst or Omega? Perhaps try reinstalling the vid card drivers directly from ATI and do a clean sweep...I only use ATI's drivers and never have had any problems with the 2001FP.
