2405 High Pitched Squeal
Does anybody else have a high pitched squeal on their 2405fpw monitor? I just ordered one, heard a squeal about 2 days after recieving it. Then I recieved a new one, and it has a louder squeal than the first one. It's not a mind-blowing volume, but a subtle and constant squeal. I probably hear it more because I'm alone in a home-office and it's very quiet and pushed into a corner on my desk. I'm debating on returning it for a refund because I'm somewhat sensitive to the squeal. If everyone elses is super quiet, then I may just try my luck at another RMA if they let me. VERY ANNOYING! :-)

mect_net,
Hopefully, it will not be months before we get some information. In all honesty, I doubt that it will be in the next couple of days. I would hope within a week we will have something. I can't really say for sure any exact date.

adam_garner,
Yes, the monitor has a 3 year warranty. If you have a problem with the monitor within those 3 years you can have it replaced. If you just have the monitor only and no service tag number on the monitor keep your customer or order number from when you purchased the monitor. They will need that number to identify your information.

Jesse:
For those of us that have a working monitor, but are wondering if the problem will surface outside of the 30 day return policy, what is the exchange policy/warranty on Dell monitors?
From what I understand, Dell monitors carry a 3 years warranty. If anything should go wrong (such as a whining noise) within those 3 years, we have the right to exchange it for another 2405 FPW. Is that correct?

One of them definitely has a loud high pitch after about 2 hours of use. I can hear it if I turn off my music, and it's quite irritating.
I haven't kept the other unit on long enough to notice.
I read that Jesse said that Dell is investigating. Does that mean I need to keep my two 2405 until we hear back from him?

Add me to the list of irritated ears! It's actually not *too* bad, but I write and mix music and am really sensitive to annoying sounds. Wouldn't be so bad it it weren't so high. May be able to get used to it, let's see.
So I could return it for a replacement in 2 years and 360 days? What if they don't make it any more?

In the UK, the support was great, they spoke english! I told them at the start it does it on all inputs, isnt cable related or caused by refresh rates and they simply agreed to send out a new one for next day delivery, picking up the faulty one :-) Ill be expecting it sometime today....
If its any help, these were both rev A01 and had near identical model numbers so were almost certainly from the same batch.
