2407FP - Screen Issue - Not centered

Hi All,

I could use your opinion! I just got my 2407FP and there is something bothering me with it and im wondering if anyone else has noticed this with there's.

Basically the screen in my unit is not centered in the frame of the monitor. There should be an even gap between where the screen ends and the frame of the unit (bezel)! With mine i have about a 1/8" gap at the top and and 1/16" on the side's and barely any gap at the bottom. I'm wondering if this is common or is this something i should call Dell about and get a replacement unit..Other then that its perfect, no dead pixels...But we know these aren't cheap and i expect better quality control.

Nightrider276,

Please post a picture of this issue. What resolution are you using? Are you talking about the hardware screen or the display picture?

Im actually going to call dell today and ask for a replacement because i found 2 other problem's.. I went to clean some finger prints off the screen and when i did i noticed that the screen was loose in the frame. The whole left side moves in about 1/8" when you lightly press on it like it was not on tight enough... the right side is nice and tight, i'd expect better quaitly on a $700 monitor.
The 2nd issue is the backlight dose not seem to be even with a black screen up...the upper left area has more of a lighter black then the rest of the screen....

I think i just got somewhat of a lemon in build quailty.

My girlfriends dawoo is put together tighter....

Other then build issues the picture is awesome..

Hopefully Dell can take care of me and make me a happy customer.

I haven't noticed any gaps on mine, so it may be abnormal. However, to your comment about these not being cheap, they are the least expensive 24" monitors on the market, as far as I'm aware. That said, I would hope that no manufacturer intentionally reduced quality control in order to hit a certain price point.
