    ariel82-

I have both the 2000FP and a brand new 2001FP (both Dell).  The 20 inch runs best in its native resolution of 1600 x 1200.  Yes, text is smaller.  You might want to do as suggested by the previous poster and go into your display>properties>settings>advanced and try changing the DPI setting.

I have always had mine set to 96 DPI, but that is what I prefer.  I believe there is also a setting in IE that you can change the font size to larger.  Sorry, I don't use IE so cannot give you exact info on that.  (I believe, though, it might be under the "View" tab in IE???

    Hope this helps.

I have a 17" LCD and use the monitor at its native resolution of 1280 X 1024. I had to go into the Control panel>Display>Setting> Advanced tab> and customize the DPI setting.

Here while in setting you can adjust your screen resolution.
Now go to this link  and adjust cleartype.   http://www.microsoft.com/typography/ClearTypeInfo.mspx

It will take a while to get used to the small size (it did for me), but I think you will get used to it over time. Then you will wonder how you ever used any other resolution!

go to desktop properties, advanced, general tab, change font dpi from 96 to 120. That will make them larger. Then go to desktop properties, appearence, effects, and check the box for smmoth edge screen fonts and change to clear type fonts. This will make them a little more bold. you will love this fix. Hope this helped you.

thanks!! looks nice now, i started to get use to the small text, but they didnt look right, but after checking off clear type, it looks perfect. And you are right, i dont know how I got by with any other resolution. I love my new lcd!

BTW: Is there anyway to restore default setting for the display, kinda tweaked a few settings, before i knew about how to use clear type and dpi settings.
