DELL P1130 Ghosting
Hi,
I've recently purchased a DELL P1130 (21" FD Trinitron) monitor and it was working beautifully when I had Windows XP SP1. After I formatted my hard drive, and reinstall a fresh copy of WinXP with SP2 together, I noticed slight ghosting on my windows desktop especially behind a white background... objects like text, mouse cursor etc will have this small wavy shadows next to it. I'm using a 128MB DELL-supplied Nvidia GF4 Ti4600 on a Dell Dimension 4100 cpu with the latest Nvidia ForceWare 66.81 drivers and DirectX9.0C ..... i tried changing the display timings, resolutions and refresh rates but it seems that the ghosting will disappear (or so i thought) when switching to either 640X480 or 800x600 resolutions at 60Hz refresh rate.... anything apart from that will result in ghosting. I tried reverting to older drivers such as the Detonator 44.03 drivers but the problem still persists. I tried resetting my P1130 settings to factory default but the ghosting is still there. It was fine when in WinXP SP1 but in SP2, the problem is pretty evident. I've tried checking any similar problems in the Microsoft Knowledge Base but nadah... found nothing that helped.
I'm using the WinXP DELL P1130 drivers supplied on the CD when i purchased the monitor and the latest BIOS for my Dimension 4100. My current resolution is 1280 x 1024 @ 85Hz (which is also the recommended default setting as stated in the user manual)
What could be the problem? Please advise.
