DVI Problem with 2001FP

I have a GeForce FX 5600 Video Card. On Analog it works very nicely but when trying to use DVI, all i get is a powersave screen. I havent seen my Monitor once in DVI for about 5 days now. I have installed the drivers to the monitor, and used the DVI recover program, still doesnt work. Can anyone give me some solutions to my problem.

Connect only one cable (VGA/DVI) at a time and change cables while the system is off. Change the monitor to DVI, then turn on the computer back on. The video card should detect the DVI monitor when you boot up. (At least that's been my experience with several different video cards (including an FX5200) and DVI monitors (including a 2001FP).

I've tried that method many times and still no luck. I really want to connect my DVI to work on my computer. Does anyone has a Geforce 5600 video card ? If you do can you tell me your experience.

No, just the 5200. What would help here is access to another video card and DVI-capable monitor. Then you could rule out bad card or bad monitor.

I have tried the dvi recover file, many times, and several other methods. analog works fine. could you please tell me exactly what you did to get dvi working? and if you used a dvi recover file can you please send it to me?
