I am afraid that house hold insurance/contents insurance would be your main hope.
Nothing I know of could possibly fix deep/or even shallow scratched led s/pixels.
cheers

The regular dell warranty will not help.  Check to see if you have a renters or home owners policy that covers accidental damage to a computer.  If you do not know if you have one, than I can almost bet you don't have one  :smileyvery-happy:, and will have to replace that monitor at some point.  The next monitor you get, obtain a renters or home owners policy that cost around $50.00 or so more ( Insurance Rider ) over the regular policy, and nice to have.

You might also check to see if you purchased complete care when you bought your computer. If you did then it will cover the damage. To quote from Dell.

I have one word for LCD monitor scratches...its actually 4 words!

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser; no water.

I just got a new home computer 4 months ago and woke up this morning extremely upset.  My 3 year old had taken a pen to my monitor.  The marks appeared to be a little blue (the color of the pen) ,but it wasnt just ink.  I tried rubbing with my finger to see if it could be rubbed off, nope.  I used have water half alcohol, nope.  I used the scratch remover spray I have for cds/dvds and and it wasnt touching it.

I was scared to use anything else I had read from message boards, etc,; that people had used only to make their problems worse.  I decided I would use the Mr Clean magic eraser before going any further.  I called the wife and asked her to pick some up on the way home and she told me we already had some here at home.  I gently rubbed the smallest "scratch" on the corner to see what would happen...It came right off!  I had 8 long "scratches" all over the monitor and they were all gone in less than a minute.

Sounds like good stuff - BUT fixing DEEP scratches I think not. It may make them a little less visible but....

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser - no water - it works. I had a scratch that's been bugging me for months, 2 seconds to remove it.

wally
felines said - 'I fear that the scratch is deep'.
I suppose that it would be worth a try for her.
I really fail to see how a deep scratch could be fixed apart from making it less visible. Even the pixels in that area would be dead & thus show up as an unlit line.
As I am in australia it would be hard for me to put it to the test.
cheers
