To what PC model is this G3223Q connected?
Connected to what video card and video card ports?
Thus far I have not noticed it with the built in self test or during gaming but it's so subtle it's difficult to tell. Seems like the backlight can't maintain consistent brightness. It doesn't just flicker between 2 shades it's almost like the brightness slider is jumping around within a range of about 10% for fractions of a second.
I have already reset it to factory settings. It is connected to a RTX 3080 display port 1.4 with windows 11 pro. Alienware Aurora r10 Ryzen.
It's definitely there with chrome, edge and Microsoft word. Messes with the eyes while reading. I didn't notice this with my Asus VG28U before it died.
I just bought a G3223Q and have the same issue with fast moving objects, slow-motion scenes and human faces in videos whether in browser or video player. I had a Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM before this one and had no issues related with flickering, stuttering, light strobing etc. But whether in SDR or HDR, I'm seriously having this issue and it drastically reduce watching quality of any media via this screen. I didn't play much video games but I didn't notice that much in video games whether in HDR or SDR playing, only videos right now. I hope this can be fixed in someway. Because it is very disturbing.
I've also tried lowering the hertz rate, but it still continues.
Sorry to hear that. I didn't come across any hardware issues yet. Only this flickering bothers me.
Here is an example of it in the red text of bottom white band. I've checked it via my phone and it's flickering. But this issue may caused by something else rather than a screen issue. BTW, I'm using 3070 Ti as GPU.
It's difficult for me to see in that video. What I had to do for mine to show up on a phone camera was to reduce the contrast down to like 20 to make the image much dimmer and mine actually appeared to be more of a backlight flickering.
Have you tried using an alternate input such as HDMI versus DisplayPort and/or a different cable altogether?
I would look into getting a high quality display port cable. They're relatively cheap. See if that fixes your issue before taking any other more expensive or drastic measures
Right. The one Dell sent is probably fine, but you would be absolutely shocked at the lack of quality control and state of cables today for gamers. I have a high-end LG monitor and the display cable they sent with it isn't rated for the highest refresh rate of the monitor. You can get a vesa certified one fairly cheap off Amazon for like 15 bucks. If it solves your problem, awesome because it's cheap. If it doesn't well you're only out like 15 bucks so not a huge deal
Interesting. My issue spanned across all input ports and with multiple cables tested. I truly believe the backlight on my monitor was not flicker free. Anyways I returned it and went with another brand
I just posted a similar thread, i have a HDMI 2.1 capable video card and the include hdmi cable out of the box just would not work for me. It sounds like my cable is defective as it was confirmed as 2.1 capable(i think, not sure on rep's phrasing)in this thread:
Hope you are well. I just got this dell laptop and had the exact same issue as yours.
Spoke to DELL rep and a replacement is coming over.
Can I please ask, I notice you got a replacement too but you had other hardware issues.
However did you check if the replacement resolved this weird flickering issue ? I notice it happens frequently when I am reading and happen to move my cursor on the texts.
I never did reassess the replacement monitor for the flickering issue as multiple bright pixels center screen were evident on the dell splash screen as well as very very very poor backlight uniformity. It literally looked like coffee that had not been stirred fully with creamer. Since my new monitor was replaced with a significantly inferior "refurbished" monitor I did not want to play return roulette with Dell and got my money refunded and returned them all.
Im hoping you have a better experience and the issue is resolved for you first replacement attempt. Sorry I could t be of more help.

I ended up getting a replacement but unfortunately the replacement had some other hardware issues so I returned both for a refund.

Unfortunately, I couldn't try that since the cable that came with monitor is so short, a meter. But as I read everywhere, people say DP is better.

I mean, HDMI cable is short but DP cable is enough long. I'm using Dell's DP cable.
