IM 2020 monitor

I am trying to feed an HDMI signal through an HDMI to DVI-I adaptor into a Dell IM2020 monitor's DVI port.

I have tried two separate adaptors and cables. The monitor wakes up but no picture, it just remains dark when connected and DVI input is selected, then goes to sleep again after ten to fifteen seconds.

I have connected the same cable minus the DVI adaptor into an HDMI TV and it works great.

This make me question the adaptors. There are two and they are brand new!

Browsing the internet I have come across the term HDCP (copy protection system) which can mean the monitor is blocking it.

I have also tried changing the picture display settings for HD down as far as they go on the video source.

Does anyone have ideas? Does Dell's monitors block video sources because they don't support HDCP?

By the way, I have tried this on 3 different Dell monitors that have DVI-I inputs. They all act the same.

Thanks!

Yes. All of our newer DVI ports use HDCP. The device your feeding from must support HDCP to send the signal through to our DVI ports.
