Is ugrading from a 24" to a 27" Monitor worthwhile?

I use the 24" Dell ultrasharp flat screen monitor and have an opportunity to trade up to the 27" monitor. I use 2 screens when comparing brokerage PDF files to Quicken and during occasional web searches. Is the change dramatic enough to warrant moving up to the larger size? (The 30" may be too large for my space). Thanks. GSW Pitt

Two of my friends, who trade extensively, both have 30" monitors. The difference is monumental for what you are looking to achieve. They like my 2407WFP, but would never consider going down in size. Go with a thirty inch if you can find the space. The 27" is a great value, but the 30" is my next move too.

All,

Remember, your video card must have a DVI-D Dual-Link port to push the 2560x1600 60hz HDCP resolution. Otherwise, the 3007s will only function at 1280x800 60hz no HDCP.

Chris, Not a problem, and thanks for the heads-up!

GSW Pitt,
The 24" and 27" have the same resolution, so you will not be gaining anything in that respect.

I contemplating buying new XPS 420 system very shortly and have been using the customiser on the site and have selected a 27 inch ultra sharp flat panel monitor for it. aThe video card I have selected is a 768mb PCIE 16 nvidia GE FORCE 8800 GTX  W/TV-OUT and DUAL DVI.  Does that video card have the DVI-D Dual-Link port you are talking about to run a 27 inch monitor, or does "DUAL DVI mean DVI-D DUAL LINK. Pardon my ignorance, I just don't want to make a mistake with my order .

Thankyou in advance, I hope you can help me
