Monitor Noise

Question

Within the last few days, an extrememely annoying, high-pitched tone has decided to emanate from my P992 monitor. I thought it was coming from the PC itself until I noticed it's disappearance when I turned the monitor off on its own. Any ideas?

it is probably the voltage tripler (used to power the electron guns) or the transformer inside the monitor which is starting to go...their life can be reduced by dust getting in through monitor vents or where environment changes from humid to dry frequently.  / ian

Check to make sure your refresh rate is within the recommended levels.
