Monitor serial number

Hello,

We actually have about 2500 Dell computers in our network. For these I would like to add the monitors serial number (from the EDID data) to our inventory database. The registry key containing this data (HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\DISPLAY\{Monitor ID}\{Monitor PnP ID}\Device Parameters\EDID) does not (always) have the whole Dell serial number but only parts of it.

eg: Dell M570:

- Serial No on label: MY08204T4760303DB61Z

- Registry key content: 8204T03DB61Z (missing MY0 and 47603)

How can I obtain the whole serial or is this partial serial enough to make Dell hardware calls?
