Some monitors do not come with service tags. They should be able to look up the monitor via the serial number. I know my ultrasharp monitor does not have a service tag on it. I would either keep calling or file a complaint with the BBB if you are in the US.
barbmcclev, Dell monitors purchased from Best Buy only have a 1 year warranty. Any additional years of warranty have to be purchased from Best Buy at the point of sale.
beamermt25, The serial number only shows us when it was manufactured. It has nothing to do with the warranty. If the monitor does not have a service tag number, then the monitor will use the Dell order number. The order number will show us who bought it and what warranty they purchased.
