P3424WEB, macOS, camera issues.#2
Dell P3424WEB
P3424WEB connected to my Precision 5560 running macOS. If I am away from computer and come back, the monitor webcam has suddenly stopped being detected. I need to replug the USB-C to make the webcam work. The monitor itself works fine. The computer has not gone to sleep mode, but maybe the webcam has? Anybody have this issue and a possible solution?

Uninstalling and not using the Dell Peripheral Manager improved the situation. However, the monitor still forgets the webcam from time to time. The sound is also sometimes disturbed. This happens mainly after re-logging into the system. I hope Dell improves this in the near future, otherwise the monitor is not suitable for a professional work.

Update: I have now moved to a new computer (Precision 5470), and the issue is still present.
When using the Windows Camera App it only detect the internal precision 5470 camera and not the monitor camera. When trying to switch camera in the Camera app I get the following error: cannot start camera error 0xA00F4241 <CameraSwitchFailed> (0xC00DABE0). The issue still have to be resolved by reconnecting the USB-C cable.

RESOLVED: Update: I'm happy to announce that firmware M2T102 has fixed this issue. I've ran this update for a month now and I've had no issues! :) M2T102, March-7-2024

@fluor2 Unfortunately, didn't work for me. The Webcam still doesn't work with my MacBook Air M1
Just called twice the Dell Support centre who replied they "don't believe the webcam supports MacOS, only the screen!!"

To receive assistance from Dell support agents, they need to first verify the ownership and warranty status. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private P3424WEB Service Tag with them. Also list the PC model, operating system, and how the P3424WEB is connected to the PC using which ports and cables.
Verify in the P3424WEB Menu-Others that your P3424WEB is running firmware M2T103 or later.
* Open the P3424WEB Menu
* Go to Others
- Run Factory Reset
- Verify DDC/CI is On
* Go to Personalize
- Change Fast Wakeup to On
* Go to Audio & Webcam
- Verify Microphone = On
- Verify Webcam & Presence Sensor = Enable
* Exit the Menu and retest
