S2722QC, stand cannot be removed?

Dear forum,
I want to remove the stand to box the monitor to send it back to Amazon. I press the latch on the backside of the monitor to pullout the stand, but nothing happens? I'm unable to remove the stand. Do you have any idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks for any help!

What was your solve? Are you saying that the instructions below from S2722QC User's Guide are incorrect?

i figured it out for anyone that needs a solution and that silly goose didn't provide it here it is: you have to make sure you're fully pressing the entire square down, when you press it down it naturally only goes halfway down but you have to move your thumb up on the square and make sure that all of it goes down, NOW hold it down as you lift the stand assembly up and away from the monitor
