S2722QC, wobbly stand riser

Dell S2722QC

Dell S2722QC

Hi all,

I just purchased an S2722QC monitor. I really like the monitor except that the panel wobbles quite a bit with the normal pressure of typing and using my Mac's trackpad on the same desk. This is distracting and potentially even dizzying/nauseating. This may be because the arm seems to be a bit loose where it attaches to the base of the stand. I have tried disconnecting the arm from the base and putting it back together several times, to no avail.

Here's a video I took of the wobble.

Also, as you can see in this picture, there's a gap between where the stand riser and the stand base attach together with the finger screw, but I've seen this gap in other pictures of this monitor on professional review sites and even Dell's site, though not sure if the gap in the other pictures I've seen is as big as on mine. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thank you in advance!

The stand riser should be flush to the stand base.

Dell does not replace the stand riser or base. Those are shipped to us by the manufacturer "with" the panel. The whole monitor (panel plus stand assembly, but not cables) will need to be exchanged.

Hi Chris, thank you for the response. In the video I posted, does the wobble when I move the riser arm look normal?

So I got a replacement from Amazon today. Same issue. The base is not flush against the riser arm, and the entire panel vibrates as I type, which is very distracting and annoying. Here is a close-up video showing the monitor vibrating/wobbling as I type (it gets worse as I keep typing, about 15 seconds into the video). This is clearly either a defect in the batch Amazon obtained from Dell or a design flaw, perhaps in part combined with my small-ish desk configuration (though I never had this problem with my previous LG monitor on this desk, which had a wider base).

My question is, should I contact Dell for a replacement this time to see if I can hopefully get a monitor from a different batch, or is this just how this monitor is?

Thank you!
