S3220DGF, firmware updates?

Hello,

I have a Dell S3220DGF monitor, revision A03, running firmware M3C102 according to the OSD. How does one automatically update the firmware on this monitor? I went to the downloads page for the Dell S3220DGF and it shows a Windows Driver and a Dell Display Manager, both of which I've installed on my Windows 10 Pro Lenovo C930 laptop.

Neither in the Windows Driver nor the Dell Display Manager did I see an option for updating the firmware on the monitor. How does one update the firmware on the Dell S3220DGF?

Thank you for any pointers you can provide.

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the private Service Tag number, but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

As you noted, the S3220DGF driver page does not have any firmware updates available so it is not possible to update the firmware. Why do you think that your S3220DGF needs a firmware update? You did not post an actual "issue"?

I have not seen a new firmware update, but yours is newer than mine. I have been wanting to update the firmware myself as I am on M3C101 and the monitor sometimes goes to blank screen for a short moment while playing games, especially when FreeSync is on and G-Sync compatible mode is enabled. I am hoping for a firmware update that can fix those lingering issues.

Hello,

  As Maverick00 stated they were experiencing, I am having the same issue. My monitor goes blank for a few seconds. It seemed random but now can see a pattern of it happening under certain situations. It's very annoying and was hoping there was a firmware update to address this. I thought it was drivers or graphics card but I have the most up to date drivers and have gone through 3 Nvidia updates and still the same issue. I also have 5 monitors attached to my powerful system and this is the only monitor that is doing this. It has done it from the first week I purchased and started using this monitor. My firmware is M3C101 and see the OP has M3C102. I do not know what revision my monitor is but I purchased new from Best Buy in April.

Thanks for any help you can offer,

@DELL-Cares

Chiming in, +1 to having this issue. When freesync is enabled, if frames drop below a certain threshold, especially on more demanding games, the brightness starts to flicker, and the signal to the monitor drops intermittently.

This only happens when freesync is enabled, and usually on more demanding games where the frames dip lower. Part of the point of freesync is supposed to be to improve the experience when running at any framerate, so this kind of invalidates that usecase.

I'd be stoked to hear I just had a faulty unit, but others who got replacements reported experiencing the same issues. Hopefully this means it's a software issue and could be fixed with a firmware update, which seems necessary to make this one of this product's main features work properly.
