S3422DWG, sensitive to static sparks

About 5 months ago I got a Dell 34" S3422DWG monitor from Amazon. This is now my primary monitor, and my older Dell 24" monitor is now my secondary monitor, so for the first time I have a dual monitor setup.

Everything is working fine, but I do have one concern with the new monitor. It seems to be very sensitive to any static electric spark that happens nearby.  So if I am standing behind my desk chair, about 4 feet away from both monitors and touch the back of the chair, this will often generate a spark of static electricity. Most of the time, the 34" monitor will then immediately go black, for several seconds, before it comes back on. The older, 24" monitor, never does this. I don't recall ever owning a monitor in the past with this issue.

In itself, this is no real problem to me, unless it indicates a bigger problem with this 34" monitor? So is this something I should be concerned about?

First, you have to transfer the ownership of the S3422DWG from Amazon into your name.

Second, the S3422DWG power cable =
* Test plugged into the wall socket directly and plugged into a surge protector
* Is it laying on other power cables? If yes move it away from them and retest

Thank you.  The monitor is plugged into a surge suppressor.  I re-organized the power cables and I think this has stopped happening.
