True 10 bit panels

Hello!

I need a 4K monitor with a true 10 bit panel (not 8 bit + FRC).

  1. What is the cheapest Dell 4K monitor with a true 10 bit panel?
  2. Does UP3216Q have a true 10 bit panel?
  3. Can I  enable 10 bpc mode in Nvidia control panel with UP3216Q  and my Nvidia Quadro K1200 graphics card?
  4. Have anybody ever ran Photoshop in 10 bit mode (with 10 bit OpenGL buffers) with UP3216Q. What graphics card did you use?
  5. I tested U3415W (it's a 10 bit monitor) with Nvidia Quadro K1200 (via DisplayPort): 10 bpc mode can't be enabled in Nvidia control panel. Do anybody know what the problem can be related to? Nvidia support said that my graphics card supports 10 bit, but the problem is the monitor.

UP3218K

Prices change quickly so check our sales site. You should direct the video card GPU question to the Desktop Video board.

Thanks for your reply!

Please, could you say, where this information (true 10 bit or  8bit + 2 bit FRC) can be obtained (for feature use)?

I've read the specification here , but I found only "1.07 Billion colors" words. I know, that it means 10 bit color, but how to check whether FRC method is used? How to distinguish true 10 bit monitors from 8bit + 2 bit FRC monitors (using Dell specification)?

That data is not posted on our external sites. You have to search reviewer sites who state it, such as TFTCentral or pcmonitors.info.

The U2713H is not on my updated list above. You can see here that the U2713H uses 8 bits + FRC.

Hi Chris,

I just would like to get a confirmation weather Dell U2713H true 10 bit or 8+FRC?

Thanks,

Peter

Hi,

I am from India and I can see 2 variants of the UP2718Q:

Dell UltraSharp 27 4K Monitor: U2718Q

and

Dell UltraSharp 27 4K HDR Monitor: UP2718Q

Are they both True 10 bit and not 8bit + FRC?

Thanks in advance.

Nope.
UP2718Q = 10 bits
U2718Q = 8 bits + FRC
