U2723QE, backlight issue
Hi, I just bought a Dell U2723QE 4k display and the backlight is very visible when the screen is dark/black.
Here's a video of me moving around, showing all sorts of backlight bleed at various angles.
Is this expected for this model?
Settings used in the video:
- Connected to a MacBook Pro via mini-Display port (DP input), displaying a pure black image
- Brightness 100%, contrast 50% (issue appears for all values)
- Preset mode: standard (issue appears in all modes)
- Smart HDR: DisplayHDR 400 (issue appears in all modes)
- Firmware: M2T105

Thanks for your response Chris.
What I see is not backlight leakage but IPS glow, and indeed it is less visible when in a daylight-lit room. However I often work at night, when the ambiant light is lower than the nominal 150 Lux.
If that means the display is working according to your standards, then I'll consider returning it and finding a product with higher standards of picture uniformity in low light conditions.
