U2724DE, three, two PC setup

Hello,

I'm thinking about buying three Dell U2724DE monitors, which I would like to daisy-chain and connect to a laptop via Thunderbolt 4 and a PC via DisplayPort, also making use of the USB KVM hub.

Would it be possible to daisy-chain three monitors? How could I set up the connections in the most correct way?

Thank you.

For daisy chain setup, connect DisplayPort-out #6 from first monitor to DisplayPort-in #4 of second monitor.  Then connecting DisplayPort-out #6 from second monitor to DisplayPort-in #4 on the third monitor, simple.

Laptop and PC will be connecting to the first monitor only.  Connecting Laptop Thunderbolt port to #8 Thunderbolt 4 upstream port on first monitor.  Connecting DisplayPort from PC to DisplayPort-in #4 on the first monitor.  Connecting a USB-A or USB-C port from PC to USB-C upstream port #9 on first monitor.

The thunderbolt connection from laptop and the USB-C upstream connection to PC will allow all downstream ports on first monitor to act and work as USB hub for the laptop and the PC.

    Thank you very much.

So is it better doing the monitors chain through DisplayPort ports than through the #7 Thunderbolt 4  downstream port?

    Which are the differences?

    Thanks!!

Yes, you can daisy chain those monitors with thunderbolt ports.  Verify that you use thunderbolt cables instead of charging cables.

I guess that beside DisplayPort MST for display, they will also allow USB connection.
