U3014, DDM, Displayport 1.2

I have a new U3014 connected via DisplayPort cable. With the menu "switch" settting at 1.1a, DDM (Dell Display Manager) recognizes the monitor and I have full functionality within the software to make changes to the monitor settings.  When I set the menu "switch" to 1.2 (which enables my second Dell monitor connected via daisy chain) DDM stops recognizing the U3014. The second Dell display is never recognized by DDM. Is anyone else seeing this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Replacing the monitor will not fix the issue. We contacted Nvidia. They are aware that not all of their video cards currently support our monitors DDC/CI when DP1.2 is enabled. You need to press Nvidia and ask why your video card does not support DDC/CI when DP1.2 is enabled and when are they going to fix it.

OK Chris... I love it when things like this happen. Two questions.  1-) is DDC/CI some sort if standard? Why would they want to support it? 2-) can this be rectified via firmware update?  Who is it I should contact? Thanks.

Right. Just to let you know where I am with this. I contacted Nvidia regarding this issue and they replied very quickly. After several emails back and forth I produced some logs for them using Entechs MonInfo tool, one whilst using Display Port 1.1a and another using 1.2. They have looked at the results and forwarded this problem onto their Tech Level Two team as the logs clearly showed their is no DDC/CI response  whilst in 1.2 . Now its just a waiting game :-)

Any updates on this issue?

I have heard nothing from Nvidia. I do hope they fix this issue soon though.

I do have the exactly same problem with my u2713H monitor. And my graphic card is not an Nvidia, it's an AMD, HD7850(PowerColor 2GB)! So, it's not a specific problem with Nvidia cards. AMD also has the same issue. Really hope they would come up with a solution anytime soon.

I am having the same issue, when I set displayport to 1.2 the titan stops recognizing it. I know someone else with u3014's and they have the same issue.

Same problem here with a new U2913WM and a new (non-DELL) desktop PC with NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 with latest drivers, and using the DisplayPort cable that was provided by Dell with the monitor.

Seems like a Dell software problem to me, as both Windows 8 and the NVIDIA Control Panel are perfectly able to detect that it is a Dell U2913WM that is connected (regardless of DisplayPort version). In fact, the only software I can find that does NOT recognise the Dell monitor, is the Dell Monitor software :-/

Please give us an update on this.

There is a crucial difference between "recognizing" a monitor, and actively *controlling* it. Dell Display Manager can recognize Dell monitors over DP1.2, but it cannot control them (because DDC/CI gets broken). DDM only shows monitors it can actively control.

I have the same issue here with both U3014 (got a replacement screen just last month, unfortunately A02), and UP3214Q (well, for the latter, DDM won't recognize it regardless of what it is connected to nor DP mode)

I threw in the towel... went back to DVI for now. Does Titan fix the problem?  ... I don't even remember.
