U3419W, does KVM switch work with PBP mode?

I understand how the U3419W KVM functionality works to share peripherals between two computers where one of them is selected for display at a time.

Does it also work in PBP mode? i.e. can the KVM switch control detect when the mouse moves to the shared edge of the screen area displaying computer 1 and switch the peripheral connections to computer 2?

The short answer is Yes: if you install and run Dell Display Manager software (DDM), you'll find there's a checkbox on the Options page/tab to "Auto-switch USB upstream ports in PBP side-by-side mode".

The qualifications are that its kind of tricky in practice. Its only available if the U3419W is the only monitor connected, and only if you move and *leave* the cursor at "the shared edge of the screen area", since DDM has to determine if the move was unintentional or deliberate, intending to trigger a USB switch. Its therefore a good idea to assign a hotkey to USB switch on the Input Manager page/tab in case the software miscalculates your intention, and that can be a problem if one of the USB devices being switched is a USB kbd/mouse receiver.

I should have specified: I have a Mac and Dell does not support DDM for MacOS.  Is there, or something equivalent?  Lunar doesn't seem to be able to control my U3419W: it reports that it is setting brightness and stuff but there is no actual change.

@swamped207, in reference to your replies on this U3419W thread, does this work without a network connection? Or do the PCs both have to be reachable via IP address?

Thanks and regards
