U4025QQ, KVM not working, two computers
Hi I have personal desktop linked to my U4025qw monitor using the DP switch as a USB-C to USB-C switch.
I also have a works dell laptop., connected through thunderbolt.
I cannot get the auto KVM switch to work - example. I switch off my work laptop. I then switch on my personal desktop but I get no signal automatically. Instead I must go through the menu using the monitors button behind the screen.
I wanted the auto KVM function where the monitor would recognise the new pc- without me having to toggle across sources. Can you advise what silly thing I am doing wrong here?

Hi Chris
Firstly- thanks for the reply and answer. I appreciate I did not explain my full issue here
The issue is that on the PIP/PBP menu, if I select the "screen partition" then autoselect does not then work. It is greyed out.
This means to select a different input I must use the monitor joystick menu to select it. Defeats the object of a auto KVM switch.
For background- I bought this monitor instead of buying 2 dual 27'' monitors as it would take up less space and allow me screen partition and KVM (I thought). More costly but I thought this would be more flexible.
a) On my work laptop- I am not allowed to upload DDPM onto this (and it sounds like there are issues with this software). The screen partition is therefore essential for my this dell inspiron to allow me to multi-task.
b) On my home pc - I could use DDPM or screen partition, although i would prefer to auto start on single screen.
I now suspect Screen partition and auto KVM are incompatible. Please advise, as i do not want to return this to instead get 2 separate monitors.
Kind regards Gavin

Still confused. Both Screen Partition and Auto Select assume that both the Laptop and Desktop are on. So why turn the Laptop off?

Ok. At home scenario. only 1 input device is on at 1 time.
1. Using work laptop on TB. Screen partition is on (so auto select is greyed out) . Using partition as not allowed DDPM on this. Allows me to replicates dual monitor set up I have at office
2. Switch work laptop off. Power on personal desktop.
Monitor does not recognise new device. I
need to access monitor menu directly and switch from TB to HP/c combo. Then choose to select screen partition or not (have DDPM on desktop- difficult to remove).
3. Same position if I then switch off desktop and go back to work laptop. Again the new input is not recognised and need to select from menu again.
My previous old monitor immediately recognised the new output as I switched computers. Seems a step back to always go into the monitor menu to select- despite the many new features.
ultimately everything works automatically/ok as long as screen partition is not on.
(Note- twice in 2 days the keyboard/ mouse have not been recognised switching either. Then on same settings are recognised 10min later with no changes)
Hope this explains my scenario well. Perhaps not the optimal usage but aiming to replicate my work 2*27 layout
