Sukrut,

Are you sure the pool AIGFPWindows is a clone pool and not a backup pool or original pool used for backup? This should be the target pool which will hold the clone.

Sukrut,

Do you have one copy of this saveset or more? If so can you provide mminfo output for saveset which reports browse, retention, volume and size info?

Do you have any restrictions as to levels which are allowed to go to the clone pool?

Is there plenty of free space in the tapes you have labelled?

What type of saveset is this - normal client partition/file system, NetWorker server specific?

Has the saveset been staged previously?

What happens if you run the command without the -d option - do you get prompt for Default Clone pool tape to be labelled?

Regards,

Bill Mason

Sukret,

Sorry that was a typo I did not spot I would like the nsrclone command run without the -b option specifying the pool to be used for the clone. I would expect a prompt to label a volume into the Default Clone pool to be produced

Hi

Thanks for quick response.

We have only one copy of this save set.

We take backup on DATADOMAIN and then make a clone copy to tape.

Clone pool  “AIGFPWindows” has plenty of tapes available.

This save set has windows file system.

We used to clone the save sets to AIGFPCWindows(Retention= Decade) backup clone pool.

We didn’t stage these save set previously.

Please could you elaborate which command you want me to execute without using –d option.

Thanks

Sukrut

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

AIGFPWindows  is a backupclone pool.

We use adv_filesystem as backup device and tape as clone deivce.

AIGFPWindows pool has bunch of tape volumes but when we are trying to clone any saveset, which is successfully backed up on adv filesystem,we are getting given below error messages.

uslgto2# nsrclone -vvv -b "AIGFPWindows" -S 4221523786
6215:nsrclone: Cloning the following save sets (ssid/cloneid):
        ca241a4a-00000006-fb9f574a-4e9f574a-09060014-4f5ec6f3/1319068232
5874:nsrclone: Automatically copying save sets(s) to other volume(s)
6216:nsrclone:
Starting cloning operation...
6217:nsrclone:   ...from storage node: uslgto3.aigfpc.com ------------>Legato Storage Node
39078:nsrclone: SYSTEM error: pool `AIGFPWindows' is not a cloning pool

5777:nsrclone: Cannot open nsrclone session with uslgto2.aigfpc.com ----------------->Legato Master Node
6218:nsrclone: Cannot open nsrclone session with uslgto2.aigfpc.com. Error is 'pool `AIGFPWindows' is not a cloning pool'

5882:nsrclone: Failed to clone any save sets
uslgto2#

Problem: AIGFPWindows is configured on storage node uslgto3 and it is showing error on storage node.

Is there anything that we can check on storage node.

Issue

Thanks

Sukrut

Your command is wrong.  Since you clone to AIGFPCWindows then for -b you must use AIGFPCWindows and not AIGFPWindows.   -b with nsrclone specifies target pool and you used source one which is not clone pool - thus the error message.

Can you first double check if AIGFPWindows is really marked as clone pool in pool configuration?

I can't see if this is Windows or UNIX box so you can do following on uslgto2

- type nsradmin

- type option hidden

- type print type: NSR pool; name: AIGFPWindows

Send output here (or if you see it that is not configured as clone pool then you know what to do...)
